An Exciting Day in Guangzhou!

Dear all,

Today, we spent time thinking a lot of our family back home. Our oldest son, Sam, our youngest son, Silas and our extended family who are looking after our boys. We're so thankful for our family and friends for what they have done for us and continue to do for us while we are half way around the world.

Today was beautiful! The weather was nice, no rain, no medical visits, just a happy fun time seeing the sights and shopping. Our guide, Helen, took us to the pearl market, the silk market and then to a Cantonese lunch. We then headed to a huge, 8-story high shopping mall. This place was immense.

Breakfast was tasty! There were many things to choose from.

The girls love the pearls!

Daddy feeding SJ steamed peanuts. She loved it!

Crazy big 8 story department store. It was huge!

After all that, we took Sarah Jane on a river boat cruise down the Zhujiang River. We had a traditional Chinese dinner buffet with a clown for entertainment. You know, normal stuff. We then went back to the hotel and on to bed.

The lights on this building changed every 5 seconds. This was during our dinner cruise.

The clown spun the ball on SJ's finger during the river cruise.

Chicken balls. It's what's for dinner.

*Please note: Bud wrote this blog entry. :)

Beatles as well. Yummy.

Mommy and SJ picked out the tastiest snake for dinner!

Highlight for the day: We were able to push Miss Sarah Jane in a stroller today. That is a huge milestone for us. She will usually get upset when June puts her down, when June sits down, when daddy looks at SJ, when daddy touches mommy, etc... She also let daddy undress her and then put her in pj's for bedtime. Baby steps.

Once again, God has allowed us to get to know some extraordinary people on this trip. We have met people from all over the United States, and world for that matter, that are willing to adopt children with medical challenges. It is very humbling to hear their stories and meet these awesome kids.

Thank you for your prayers and know that God has a plan for all of us.

Blessings,

Bud, June and Sarah Jane

Awesome that you have a good group of travelmates (life long friends, I'll bet) to share the journey with. Are all the Shaanxi sweeties from Baoji?... or other Shaanxi locations? If they're willing to share their blogs, I know we'd love to see them!!
Godspeed on the rest of your journey (isn't GZ great!?!?... can't wait to get home, I know, but by tomorrow you'll be shocked that you have such a short time left) and safe, uneventful flights too. Praying you thru the jetlag and the adjustment period too.
